Many of the pieces we create hold deep personal meaning, whether they are bespoke designs, future heirlooms, or reimagined from jewellery already full of memory. With a little care, your piece can continue to be worn, loved and passed down for generations to come.
Clean your jewellery gently at home using warm water, a little mild soap, and a very soft toothbrush. Carefully brush around the settings and stones, then dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Store each piece separately when it is not being worn. Jewellery can scratch or damage other jewellery, so we recommend keeping pieces in individual pouches, soft cloth, or separate compartments in a jewellery box. This is especially important when travelling.
Remove rings and bracelets before doing anything that may knock, rub, or put pressure on them, such as exercise, gardening, housework, lifting heavy objects, or swimming.
Put your jewellery on last. Perfume, makeup, hair products, lotions and sunscreen can build up on gemstones and metal over time, so we recommend applying these first and allowing them to dry before putting your jewellery on.
Avoid wearing jewellery in the shower, swimming pool, hot tub or sea. Chlorine, salt water and heat can affect precious metals, settings and certain gemstones.
Take extra care with softer gemstones such as opals, emeralds, pearls, tourmalines and morganites. These stones are beautiful, but more delicate, and should be worn and cleaned with particular care.
Each bespoke Gaïa piece is made individually, often around meaningful gemstones, heirloom gold, or diamonds with their own history.
Because of this, no two pieces are ever quite the same, and each one deserves to be looked after with the same care it was created with.
We recommend having your piece professionally checked from time to time, especially rings and bracelets that are worn often. This allows us to check the settings, claws, stones and general condition of the piece, helping to keep it secure and beautiful.
